The Georgia department of labor’s Toccoa Career Center is hosting the 2012 Northeast Georgia job fair and career expo today.
The fair will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the Currahee campus of North Georgia Technical College located on Highway 17 in Stephens County between Toccoa and martin.
Toccoa career center manager Greg Pitts says this is the sixth annual event and it continues to grow each year.
“We have, at present, some 85 employers and resource agencies that will be there on Friday,” said Pitts. “These are employers that actually have jobs to fill. They are going to be hiring. They are going to be scheduling interviews.”
Also, the fair will have people on site to critique resumes.
Pitts says people looking for a job and attending Friday’s job fair need to come prepared.
“Bring multiple copies of your resume,” said Pitts. “Come dressed professionally, come dressed to interview. There will be interviews going on that day. This is not the day to show up super-casual. Come dressed for success. That way, I guarantee you will stand out in front of those employers. Bring your best attitude that day.”
