A lot of work has been put in by the Bowman Community as they are preparing for this weekend’s Big Iron Crank Up.
Coming off a volunteer clean up day held in partnership with the Keep Elbert County Beautiful branch of the Keep America Beautiful organization, nearly twenty residents helped pick up trash and spruce up the downtown Bowman area.
In its 25th rendition, the Big Iron Crank up begins with bingo on Friday evening at 6:30pm, and will carry over to the main event beginning on Saturday morning.
Bowman Mayor Pete Gibbons says everything is going to keep in line with what has been seen at past festivals.
“Pretty much be the same format as past years but we are adding a few things. Georgia Antique Engine Club will be at the park, and you will have vendors, food, music, and live entertainment on the square”, said Gibbons.
That being said, there are a couple of new additions to this year’s crank up.
The first being a car show and the other being a car swap meet, both of which will be held at the Bowman City Park.
Saturday’s portion of the Big Iron Crank Up begins at 9:00am and is expected to run up until 5:00pm Saturday evening.
More information about the crank up can be available by contacting Bowman City Hall at (706) 245-5432.
