In just a few short days, one of the biggest events in the county takes place, and that is the 2nd Annual Friends Helping Friends Pageant.
During the pageant’s debut last year, over seven thousand dollars was raised for the Friends Helping Friends program.
FHF Founding Sponsor Sandy Adams said its one of those events that really tugs on the heartstrings.
“Last year everybody was so happy that they went, it’s just absolutely a blessing to see the kids on stage with their heroes”, said Adams. “It’s just an absolute wonderful night for the kids.”
This year’s pageant will also feature a concert, a silent auction, as well as a taste of Elberton food court.
The ideas for the latest additions, said Adams, came from members of the Friends Helping Friends attending the Big Hearts Pageant in Athens, which is a presentation of Extra Special People.
“Now that we have had an entire year to think about it, we decided that we were going to add some other things to this pageant”, said Adams. “We’re real excited to be adding all these things to the pageant.”
The pageant will be held on Saturday, April 20th at the Elbert County Middle School Auditorium.
Doors open at 5:00pm and tickets are five dollars at the door, or can be purchased from any FHF member prior to the show.
All proceeds raised will go to the FHF club, which is Elbert County’s largest service club, consisting of well over two hundred members.
