Just under a week away now for the second theatre camp that will be taking place at the Elbert Theatre.
Starting on Monday, July 8th, just over thirty sixth through twelfth graders will begin their two week long theatre camp.
Elbert Theatre Director Toni King says the camp is similar to the younger kids’ camp, but goes into much more detail.
“They learn more about everything that goes into a theatrical production” said Kings. “They work on their lines, and also work on the set, making costumes, lighting, sound, and they get a glimpse of everything that goes into a show.”
The production that the group will be working on is Into the Woods Jr., which is a mash up of about five different fairy tales.
Two performances are scheduled after the camp has concluded on July 19th and July 20th at 6:00pm each night.
Tickets for those performances are a little higher than the younger kids camp prices, and King explains the reasoning behind that.
“It is a little higher this year because we are trying to make our costume and set better, also some of our grants from the state were cut so we are having to pay a bit more for the production rights of the show”, explained King.
Tickets will be eight dollars for adults and five dollars for students, and as with the previous camp, no advance tickets will be sold.
