The TJ and Friends Foundation are preparing for its 5th annual Banquet and Auction coming up this weekend.
Co-Chairman of the TJ and Friends Board Henry Mattox is one of the main organizers of the event, and talks about the big ticket item that is going to be given away.
“ We got a men’s diamond ring valued at $1,800, We’re going to sell one deck of cards $20 per card and once those 52 cards are sold we’re through with that and at some point in the
evening we will call those 52 participants to the front and the person that draws Ace of diamonds wins the ring”, says Mattox.
This year’s banquet will be once again held at the Elberton Elks Lodge, and Mattox has nothing but positive things to say about the venue.
“This is the third year that it has been hosted at the Elks Lodge which has really been great for us the personnel are really helpful to us and really supportive of our cause and makes for a good venue for it, Plenty of room there. We get a lot of support from Elbert County, so it makes it nice we can host that here at home.”
Taking place this Saturday evening will be dinner, several raffles, a silent auction, and a live auction as well.
Live auction items include several rounds of golf from various courses in Georgia and South Carolina, as well as other items including an autographed guitar from Colt Ford, Alabama 2012 National Championship Memorabilia autographed by Coach Nick Saban, and two granite benches donated by local granite sheds among others.
Doors open this Saturday at 4:30pm, with dinner being served at 6:30pm; bids will be taken for silent auction items during that time.
Tickets for the banquet are $25 which gets you in for dinner.
