After September marked the closing of the Mohawk Textile Plant in Abbeville County, a much needed economic shot in the arm is coming to that area.

According to the Index-Journal, Pro Towels, a local business in the area, is moving to a 300,000 square foot facility in the Abbeville County Industrial Park.

With that move comes an expected investment of nearly two point five million dollars, along with fifty full time jobs.

Vice-President of Operations for Pro Towels Jeremy Scott said, “Pro Towels has been in Abbeville since 1989 and we’ve seen steady growth since then. With the facility, we plan to make the services we offer more uniform from our West Coast to our East Coast.”

Pro Towels produces advertising specialty products, which include towels and terry cloth fabrics.
