Abbeville County Council to Build EMS Station in Calhoun Falls

January 14, 2013

The Abbeville County Council is moving forward with its EMS realignment plan.

The plan calls for having stations strategically located throughout the county for optimal response time.

Now that the former Long Branch Street station has been moved to the new Abbeville County administrative complex off of Highway 72, the county can begin to move forward with establishing an EMS station in the town of Calhoun Falls.

The county already owns land in the city, which is expected to save anywhere from $15,000 to $25,000 in land purchasing costs.

The new station will be located on a one acre tract of land off of Highway 72 within the town limits.

Construction is expected to begin as soon as the current departments have completed their respective moves.
