Annual Rotary Hot Dog Dinner Slated for Tomorrow Evening

October 24, 2013

The annual Elberton Rotary Club Tailgate Party will be held this Friday evening in anticipation of the Elbert County vs. Hart County football game.

Sue Cone, with the Elberton Rotary Club, explains why the event is held before each rivalry game.

“People can come by before they go to the game and pick up their plates and don’t have to worry about supper, and have a delicious dinner”, said Cone. “In the dinner is two all beef hotdogs, chili, baked beans, Bojangles coleslaw, a drink, and a homemade cookie.”

Cost per hot dog meal will be six dollars, and can be picked up at the Civic Center beginning at 5:00pm that Friday evening.

Cone says it’s a great fundraiser, and talks about where the proceeds from events like this go towards.

“The beauty about the six dollars is that everything we make goes right back into the community. We build wheelchair ramps for people that need them, and last year we gave over $26,000 in local scholarships to Elbert County seniors”, said Cone. “Rotary is the biggest contributor to local scholarships in our community.

Advance tickets can be purchased from and Rotary Club member or by contacting Sue Cone directly at (706) 213-3306.

Cone also says those who can’t purchase advance tickets are welcome to walk in and purchase a hot dog dinner.
