An Elbert County man wanted in connection to a weekend armed robbery is behind bars.
Elberton Police Investigator Scott Maurnich says the Elberton Police Department responded to a call of an armed robbery just after 5:00pm on Saturday at Elberton Pharmacy.
“Upon responding and reviewing the video, we observed a single male subject come into the store, wait for the store to clear of customers, and then proceed to rob the store at what we think was gunpoint according to the victims of the store itself”, said Maurnich.
After reviewing surveillance footage and receiving information from eye witnesses, investigators were able to identify the suspect as 36-year-old Bryant O’Neal Anderson of a Porter Drive address.
With the assistance of the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest warrant was served.
According to Maurnich, Anderson was found to be in possession of a large amount of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest.
Anderson is facing charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute.
The Elberton Police Department also asks if anyone else may have information important to this case to feel free to contact an investigator.
