An arrest has been made in connection with the September 6th stabbing death of an Elberton man.
On September 6th, a 911 call was received around 4:30pm from 1048 Porter Drive about a possible stabbing death.
Upon arriving on scene officers discovered that Rodney L. McDuffie of the home has been murdered, the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
An investigation continued for over a month and a half, and as a result of that investigation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Elbert County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 54-year-old Jessie George Simpson of an Oglesbly Boulevard address in Elberton.
Simpson was released from the Doctor’s Hospital in August yesterday, and was taken into custody on a parole violation; after he was arrested he was transported to the Elbert County Detention Center.
Once he arrived at the detention center, he was served with Felony warrants on charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Armed Robbery.
A hold has also been placed on Simpson by the State Parole Board.
Simpson remains in custody at the Elbert County Detention Center, where bond has yet to be set at this time.
