The Elbert County 4-H BB Team is heading to Nationals at the end of this month, and a fundraiser is coming up this weekend to help them make the trip.
Taking place at the 4-H Center behind the Fairgrounds, the fundraising event will feature live music from Elbert County’s own Lazarus Unwound, a hotdog dinner, a bake sale, and even a silent auction to top it all off.
Tickets will be five dollars in advance or six dollars at the door, and covers the cost of the hotdog dinner and admission to see the musical performance of Lazarus Unwound.
The event gets started at 6:00pm tomorrow evening, which is just a couple of hours before the Swinging Medallions take the stage on Elberton’s Downtown Square.
Rock Evans, one of the coaches of the team, says that their event shouldn’t conflict with the concert later that evening.
“I know it’s the same night as the Medallions are on the square, but what we are trying to do is tell people to come by our event which will be over with by eight”, said Evans. “I plan on seeing the Medallions also, so I am not trying to take away from their event, I am just asking that everyone support these kids because I believe they have earned it.”
The national competition will take place in Rogers, Arkansas over the course of several days, the first of which is set for June 27th.
Anyone wanting more information, wanting to donate cakes, items, or cash for the team, can contact Rock Evans at (706) 319-6464.
