Big Game for the Elbert County Blue Devils Tonight

October 18, 2013

Coming off an impressive 40-0 beat down of Morgan County, the Blue Devils now turn their full focus to the 5-1 Titans of North Oconee.

The Titans lone loss on the season comes from their season opener against AAA powerhouse St. Pius X, in which the Titans came just five points short of snagging an impressive win.

Since, the Titans have breezed through their schedule, averaging a 40.6 point margin of victory in their last five games.

Elbert County Blue Devil Head Coach Sid Fritts knows how big of a game this one is.

“The winner of this game has gone on to win the region for the past three years, so it is a tremendous game. What we try to do is prepare for each opponent so that we don’t disrespect the team that we’re playing that Friday night. We’re getting into a good place as a football team, offensively and defensively, we just have to continue to get better each week, we have to go stop a very good running back” says Fritts.

Traveling to just outside of Watkinsville this evening, the Blue Devils will look to stay unbeaten in region play, as both teams come into the contest a respective 3-0 in region 8AAA.

Kick-off this evening is scheduled for 7:30pm, pregame coverage begins at 7:00pm on 105.3 WSGC.

So if you can’t make the trip this evening, be sure to tune in to your home for Elbert County Blue Devil Football.
