Blue Devil Track Team Tie for Third at Georgia Olympics

The Elbert County Blue Devils track team wrapped up their season over the weekend bringing an end to sports for the school year.

The Devils tied for 3rd in the team rankings with Washington County with 39 points. St. Pius was the clear victor with 98 total points followed by Cedar Grove who had 58.

The Devils 4×100 meter team finished 4th with a time of 42.53. Again, that team consisted of Mecole Hardman, Andrew Rivers, Dimeris Newman, and Marquice Dye.

Dye went on to finish 2nd in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.05 losing by only .03 to Andrew Slaton of Sonoraville who had a time of 14.02. Dye also placed 2nd in the 100m dash with a time of 10.81 again behind Slaton by the slimmest of margins.

Mecole Hardman finished 4th in the 200m dash with a time of 22.21. Hardman also placed 2nd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 46-09.25 and 4th in the Long Jump with a jump of 22-06.
