It was a bare knuckle fight in Hart County Friday night. The Elbert County Blue Devils took down the undefeated Hart County Bulldogs 23-21. The Blue Devils would go down early but battle back and the teams would go into the half all tied at 14.
Coming out to start the second half the Blue Devil defense would come out with chin straps buckled only giving up 2 yards in the 3rd quarter and forcing 5 three and outs in the half. The Elbert offense would put the first points on the board in the second half going up 20-14. This would give Hart County their first deficit to overcome this season.
The only points the Devils would give in the second half would be a 65 yard punt return and the PAT would give the bulldogs the go ahead 21-20. However, determination would pull through for the Blue Devils who would drive down the field but be held to a field goal giving Elbert a 23-21 lead which would be the final score.
