The Elbert County Blue Devils were finally back in action this past Friday night; taking on the dreaded Wolves of Buford.

Elbert County got off to a promising start after getting to the Buford twelve yard line on their opening possession, but a chop block penalty and a huge negative yard play, took Elbert County out of scoring position and left Buford with ball at their own 35-yard line.

Buford scored on their first possession of the ball game on a quick drive, that put them out front by a score of 7-0.

From that point on, the Wolves would never look back as they handed the Blue Devils an opening night loss by a score of 46-7.

With the loss the Blue Devils fall to 0-1 on the young season, with no record yet in region play.

The game’s American Pest Control Exterminator of the Game was presented to Tim White, who according to color commentator Marvin Denny, made several big tackles on the defensive side of the ball, even though the score would not indicate as such.

Next up for the Blue Devils is another road trip, this time traveling to the Athens, GA area to take on the Cedar Shoals Jaguars.

Kick-Off is scheduled for 7:30pm, so be sure to tune into 105.3 WSGC next Friday night for every snap of action on your voice for Elbert County Blue Devil Football.
