It wasn’t the start that Elbert County football fans were hoping for, but the Blue Devils are looking to bounce back from a 46-7 road loss to Buford later tonight.
Elbert County Blue Devil Head Coach Sid Fritts talks about what his team took away from last Friday.
“Got some speed, got some athletic ability, got some size, and got some room for improvement”, where the words of Coach Fritts. “We have a team that is building their own identity, and when you play team like Buford you will get exposed and find out what reality is.”
This evening, the Blue Devils are on the road again taking on Cedar Shoals, who fell in defeat last week against Hart County 39-14.
In last week’s game against the Bulldogs, a total of thirteen turnovers were committed; eight by Hart County and five by Cedar Shoals.
Coach Fritts feels his team can make some things happen against a young and new Jaguar defense.
“If there is a weakness, I think it is over on that side of the ball. They have a bunch of new players with only two to three returning starters”, said Fritts. “They have changed defense, so I feel they are susceptible to the run, and we ran the ball pretty good the other night against a stout defense in Buford.”
Kickoff tonight is 7:30pm; pregame coverage begins at 7:00pm on 105.3 WSGC, and online at wsgcradio.com
