Blue Devils Start Off Region Play in Dominating Fashion

September 30, 2013

The Elbert County Blue Devils took care of business Friday night, getting off to a great start in region play.

After a full two weeks to reflect on their last non-region opponent Evans, who came from behind in dramatic fashion, the Blue Devils turned their focus to the Eagles of East Jackson.

The Blue Devils got off to a quick start early in the first quarter, courtesy of a Mecole Hardman touchdown run, which after a failed two point conversion put the Blue Devils up 6-0.

That would pretty much be the story of the game as the Blue Devils reeled off fifty-four unanswered points, capped off with a score from the Blue Devil back ups.

East Jackson scored their lone points on the evening with roughly four minutes left in the game, on the leg of their kicker who knocked one through the uprights for three.

Final score on the evening, Blue Devils 54 East Jackson 3.

Up next, the Blue Devils will make their way back to the Granite Bowl this Friday evening to take on the Oconee County Warriors.

Pregame coverage starts on 105.3 WSGC at 7:00pm, Kick-off follows at 7:30pm.
