Both Basketball Squads Defeat Jackson County

The Blue Devil and Lady Devil basketball squads were at home in the Inferno to take on the Jackson County Panthers Friday night.

The Lady Devils started off with quick lead in the game against the Lady Panthers. The Ladies took a ten point 34-24 lead going into the half. Kiki Glaze and Cyiarra Hill both had six points going into the half and Jimerra Hill had 5. The Lady Devils were spreading the ball around well on offense but had trouble with fouling as they sent the Lady Panthers to the foul line for nineteen free throws in the first half. The Lady Devils would see their lead dwindle in the second half but would finish the game with a 55-51 win. Bri Moon led in scoring with 14 points and was named Tri-County Technical College Player of the Game. Cyiarra Hill had 12 in the contest.

The Blue Devils hit the ground running in their game against the Panthers as they jumped out to a 9-2 lead and didn’t look back. The Blue Devils went into the half with a 42-23 lead with Ben Routh leading in scoring with 13 and Terrel Hughes followed up with 9. The Blue Devils would continue to dominate throughout the second half as they would take an 88-61 victory. Ben Routh would continue his scoring and finish with 20 points. Terrel Hughes would be named Tri-County Technical College Player of the Game with 15 points and Marc Moon finished with 13.

The Elbert basketball squads will be back in action in the Inferno on Tuesday, January 22 to take on the East Jackson Eagles. Those Games will be aired live on 1400AM and 96.5FM the Voice of Elberton and streamed live on
