Bowman City Council Closes out 2006 SPLOST

February 26, 2013

The Bowman City Council has officially closed out its 2006 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

The task was accomplished last night during the council’s regular meeting.

Funds had to be moved around to zero out the city’s account.

Nearly fourteen thousand was moved over to the Water/Sewer department, just shy of sixteen thousand was removed from Equipment and Vehicles, nearly four thousand was added to City Buildings, and finally over two thousand was taken away from interest earned.

Bowman City Mayor Pam Johnson explains why this had to be done.

“This is just so that we have everything in its correct line as we have spent it”, said Mayor Johnson. “This will enable us to close out the account once and for all.”

The Bowman City Council approved the 2006 SPLOST Amendment with a unanimous vote.
