The Bowman City Council was the first governing body in Elbert County to hold an official meeting, but it was all fairly routine.

Yesterday morning’s called meeting was held to take care of a few issues that come with a new administration.

According to Bowman City Mayor Pete Gibbons, the council had to meet before any old bank accounts could be transferred over.

“Pinnacle Bank needs written minutes from us before they can make any changes to the accounts before they can make the switch from people no longer here to the new administration”, explained Mayor Gibbons.

Previously in the name of former Mayor Pamela Johnson and former Councilman Ben Rice, Gibbons has requested that the accounts be transferred over to himself and Councilwoman Betty Jo Maxwell.

A motion was made to make those changes, which passed unanimously with a 4-0 vote.
