The start of the new school year marks the transition from the summer to the fall, and when fall rolls around so do the numerous local fall festivals.
One of the major fall festival events that takes place in Elbert County is the annual Bowman City Fall Festival, which takes place on the town square in Bowman.
Bowman City Councilman and Special Events Coordinator Pete Gibbons talks about what will be on tap at this year’s festival.
“We will have a full day of family fun activity which will begin at 9:00am, and will roll until about 10:00pm in the evening. We will have live entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and a kid zone. So we should have something for the whole family all day and evening long.” said Gibbons.
The festival will also feature music from The Common People Band, Borderline, and from local residents during Bowman Idol, which will also be held during the festival. As of right now the festival still has plenty of open vendor spots that need to be filled, but according Gibbons, spaces will go quickly.
“Spaces go fast so we do limit duplication of vendors, so if anyone is interested we ask them to not hesitate to call us, and we will do our best to get them in.” said Gibbons. “We will fill it up until its gone; I think last year we ran out of space about two weeks before the festival, so the sooner you can get it in, the better.”
The cost for food vendors is $40, Arts and Crafts vendors is $25, and Yard Sale spaces are $10. To apply for a vendor or yard sale space you can contact (706) 567-0975, email at [email protected], or visit the Bowman Special Events Facebook page.
