The city of Bowman is getting ready for its annual Big Iron Crank-Up spring festival.
The Crank-Up is set for this Saturday, April 20th and will take place on Bowman’s downtown square and at the Bowman City Park.
According to Bowman Special Events Coordinator Pete Gibbons, there are limited applications available for food vendors, but plenty of spaces for arts and crafts, and yard sale spots.
Gibbons also talks about a few minor things that may be different at this year’s crank up.
“There wont be any major changes because I think the Big Iron Crank Up has been working pretty good so far, so we figure we aren’t going to fix anything that is not broken”, said Gibbons. “We are pretty much going with the same format this year, and we may add some more kid stuff at the park to make sure there is plenty of fun for the whole family.”
He says that he is also looking forward to having a similar turnout to year’s past.
“Its pretty hard to estimate attendance when you have a festival that takes place a two different locations, but we do average a few thousand each year, so hopefully we can match that or do better this year”, said Gibbons. “As long as we can get some good weather this year as well.”
Entertainment for this year’s big iron crank up includes Elberton’s own Erica Sunshine Lee and Clay Paige; as well as Reggie Starrett.
