The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that occurred at a local business.

The owner of the business, located off of West Tate Street, reported that miscellaneous parts from an automatic machine along with miscellaneous granite shed equipment had been taken from the business.

Damage to the machinery, according to the owner, would cost the company between three and five thousand dollars.

In the report, the owner said that this is not the first time an incident like this has occurred, and that he believes the crime was committed by someone in the granite industry.

The investigation into the burglary continues by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office.
