City of Bowman to Receive Help from County on City Park

January 25, 2013

The city of Bowman and Elbert County are working together on the Bowman City Park.

Bowman City Councilman Pete Gibbons said that the kids working out at the park under the TAP program were able to receive a $250 grant through the University of Georgia.

He said that the group is already looking at applying for yet another grant, but the amount that may be received is not yet known.

Gibbons mentioned that the park has some new playground equipment, but it has to be installed first. He says that the county is willing to lend a hand.

“On the playground equipment front, I have spoken to Tommy Lyon and Bob Thomas this week”, said Gibbons. “The county said they are willing and able to provide labor to get the equipment in the ground.”

Gibbons said that the goal is to hopefully have all the new equipment in place by the end of February.
