City of Elberton Accepts L.O.S.T. Agreement

The City of Elberton agreed last night with the terms set fourth in the new Local Option Sales Tax Agreement.

The new agreement is to last over a ten year term, and will send sixty-six percent of revenue received through the tax to Elbert County, the city of Elberton gets twenty-nine percent, and the city of Bowman will get five percent.

The motion to accept the agreement passed with a unanimous vote from the Elberton City Council.

The Elbert County Board of Commissioners voted in late September with a unanimous vote as well.
