On April 5th and 6th the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Spring Tour of Homes event.
Chamber Tourism Director Erin Pollack says this is a rare opportunity to view the beautiful homes in Washington.
“It happens every year the weekend before the Masters in Augusta, and some of our private homes will open their doors for the public to view”, said Pollack. “These tours only happen twice a year.”
Also taking place this weekend will be the Under Armor Tough Mudder Obstacle Course race. Pollack says the combination of these two events could make for a great crowd for the tour.
“We have already had numerous phone calls about people interested in coming to the tour, and we think with Tough Mudder here that we could draw some interest from that crowd to maybe tour a couple of homes on their way out of town”, said Pollack.
In addition to the tour, the Washington Women’s Club will be holding a luncheon on Saturday, April 6th at a cost of ten dollars.
Pollack says that the Women’s Club and Kiwanis Club are two vital sponsors for this event.
“It’s usually a very nice seat down meal provided by the Women’s Club”, said Pollack. “The Woman’s Club and the Kiwanis Club are the main ones behind this event that really help it run smoothly.”
Cost for the Saturday Day Tour will be thirty dollars, which includes tours of six homes and admission into each of the city’s four museums.
