The TJ and Friends Foundation will be hosting their 4th Annual Roast at the end of this month.
The person who is expected to take the heat this year, is WSGC’s Blue Devil Football Sideline Reporter, Danny Bessinger.
Blake Thompson with the Foundation is one of the organizer’s of the event, and says events like this one have allowed the TJ and Friends Foundation to donate over $300,000 to local cancer patients.
“TJ and Friends Foundation has given about $321,000; and everyone who has donated to the foundation is a part of this foundation”, said Thompson. “The biggest thing is that the whole community throughout the seven counties has brought all that money in.”
Thompson was on the hot seat for last year’s roast, and he is expecting a big crowd to be in attendance for Danny’s roast.
“We had about 180 at my roast, but I am expecting a bigger crowd for Danny, because he is well known and he has done a lot for the community”, said Thompson. “You always hear good stuff, but we are gonna pick at him that night.”
The roast will be held at the Elberton Elks Lodge on Saturday, January 26th.
Tickets are currently on sale, and can be purchased from any TJ and Friends Board Member at a cost of $25. The ticket covers admission, dinner, and enters the ticketholder into a raffle for a TV that will be given away.
