Decline in SPLOST Revenue Giving EC School Board Headaches

October 15, 2013

The Elbert County Board of Education cancelled their called meeting due to questions regarding Phase Two renovations for the Elbert County Comprehensive High School.

Due to the SPLOST revenue decreasing more than expected Phase Two is being planned out once again to fit properly to what the school district can afford.

According to Chief Financial Officer Ben Childs it would be roughly ten percent cheaper if they decide to build a new field house rather than renovating the already existing field house.

The Phase Two renovation budget is expected to be approved at the Boards regular meeting on Monday the 21st.
