The Elbert Track team finished up their season over the weekend of May 4th and 5th. The rain did not deter the the Georgia Olympics from going on, but did have an effect on competitors as times seemed to be a step slower. The Blue Devils tied in 10th place with North Hall and Washington County with 24 points.
On the first day of competition fields events were held; Mecole Hardman got 9th in the long jump with a jump of 21-04.50 and placed 5th in the triple jump with a jump of 43ft. Daiquan Jackson placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 43-09.75.
In the finals of the running events, Marquice Dye got 3rd in the 100m dash with a time of 11.18 and also placed 4th in the 110m hurdles with time of 14.92. Trey Barnett placed 6th in the 200m dash with a time of 23.52. The 4x100m relay team that consisted of K’Taro Cade, Tyshon Dye, Trey Barnett, and Marquice Dye finished 3rd with a time of 42.95.
