Diamond Devils Close Out Season on an Extra Innings Loss

The Diamond Devils lost in the final game of their season last night 4-3.

The Devils battled 10 hard against the Titans that would inevitably be the region 8AAA champions.

The Devils would be held scoreless in the first inning. Jacob Smith started on the mound for the Devils and the team would give a quick 1-0 lead to the Titans.

However the Diamond Devils would fight back and Caleb Norman, after being walked, would be driven in by Montavious Tinch to tie the game. However in the 3rd inning the Titans knocked in three runs and take the lead 3-1.

In the 4th, Elbert would chip away after Wesley Dunn scored on a pass ball and Warren Naggie would tie up the game scoring in the 6th to tie the game at 3 all.

Brett Mills would come in to relieve in the bottom of the 6th inheriting two base runners and striking out the next three batters to get out of the inning. Mills would pitch great striking out 8 through four scoreless innings.

However, in the bottom of the 10th with runners on a pass ball would give the Titans their winning run.

The Diamond Devils finish with a 12-13 overall record and 4-10 region record.

Senior Brett Mills was named Tri-County Technical College Player of the game for his dominance on the mound in his relief effort and his senior leadership throughout the season.
