EC Board of Education Discusses Concussion Policy

August 20, 2013

The Elbert County Board of Education held their regular monthly meeting for August last night.

During the meeting Elbert County Superintendent Chuck Bell and the Board of Education members discussed the concussion policy and its impact to the school system.

Superintendent Chuck Bell explains how this policy will keep the students that participate in all school sports safe.

“With that policy it brings greater awareness to the issue. I think that in attempt in our part to communicate with parents and guardians that communication about the potential for injuries is critical and it ensures that there is a specific protocol that we’re going to follow in the event that they may be a head injury” says Bell.

The policy was approved unanimously and will be in effect for the 2013-2014 school year.
