The Elbert County Board of Commissioners met yesterday evening for their regular meeting for the month of March.
At the meeting, the commission approved a tourism expenditure request by the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce for the upcoming FLW Fishing Tournament.
The chamber is expecting anywhere from one hundred to one hundred and fifty different boats to participate in the tournament.
The expenditure came in the amount of one thousand dollars, and will be used primarily to promote the event.
Funds will come from the Richard B. Russell State Park portion of the Hotel/Motel tax collection.
The motion to approve the expenditure passed unanimously.
