Facility updates was the main portion of the meeting.
Construction has been keeping up with the inclement weather at the High School just barely.
The front parking will soon be ready for surfacing.
The structures for the new Band and ROTC buildings will be going up in March.
Also, construction on the Field House will be getting off the ground soon.
The Ag Barn will also get underway after some final quotes are reviewed for the facility. The Barn will also have 5-8 acres of pasture land.
In other Facility news the Board says the County is done with tearing down the front of the Mill Street property.
The gymnasium and the back of the building are all that remain.
Superintendant Chuck Bell said the School Board would like to try to get that property used for storage or commercial use as it is not in as bad shape as the front of the building was.
In the final bit of Facility news, a GBI Drug Task Force will be leasing the office portion of the old Bowman Elementary school as a headquarters.
The Board is willing to go into a year to year leasing agreement with the Task Force similar to the agreement they currently have with the Mountain Education Charter School.
