Elbert Basketball Defeat Stephens County

After coming off a wins against rivals Hart County on Friday night the Elbert County Basketball squads welcomed former region foe and rival Stephens County to the Inferno.

The Lady Devils got out to a quick start against the Lady Indians but were not able to keep it up as the Lady Indians fought back and even took the lead. However, the Lady Devils were able to keep it close at the half as they trailed 24-22. Cyiarra Hill led the team with 10 points followed by Bri Moon with 6 at the half. The Lady Devils would come out in their usual fashion in the second half, as they would jump out and take a strong lead. The Lady Devils would win by 12 in the 51-39 victory and go to 14-3 on the season. Cyiarra Hill would lead in points with 17, followed by Bri Moon with 16, and Tiawanna Griffin added 11. Cyiarra Hill was once again crowned Tri-County Technical College Player of the Game.

The Blue Devils got off to a good start against the Indians, despite a full of fouls, as they took the game to halftime with a nine point 36-27 lead. Marc Moon lead the team in scoring followed by Terrell Hughes with 8. The Boys would hold and tighten their lead throughout the third quarter and the fourth would be much of the same dominance. The Blue Devils would defeat the Stephens County Indians 82-59. Tri-County Technical College Player of the Game was awarded to Marc Moon for leading of Devil offense with 29 points. Terrell Hughes added 18 points for the Devils in the victory.

The Blue Devils basketball squads will be back in action Tuesday January, 15th as they travel to North Oconee to take on the Titans.
