The search for an Elbert County man wanted on several felony arrest warrants came to a close exactly a week after beginning.
The ordeal began in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 18th at a Brewers Bridge Road address.
According to Lt. Terry Reese with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Marlin Roberts was driving recklessly in the front yard of the residence, which resulted in him striking a phone pole and guide wire.
He said the incident concluded after Roberts crashed into a stone wall located on the property, at which point he fled on foot.
Reese said that Roberts was apprehended without incident Thursday morning.
“Members of the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office went to a Brewers Bridge Road residence in search of Roberts”, said Reese. “He was located without incident and taken into custody.”
Roberts remains in custody at the Elbert County Detention Center, where he is being held on three counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felony, one count each of Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, and Failure to Report an Accident.
Bond has been established, but not yet posted as of this morning.
