Two new Elbert County Library Board Members have been appointed by the Elbert County Board of Commissioners.

Originally Allen Nicas and Lamar Scott were going to be recommended for the positions, but according to Elbert County Administrator Bob Thomas, newly elected District Three Commissioner Chris Alexander, expressed interest in being on the library board.

“After talking to Mr. Alexander, I think he might be interested in replacing Lamar Scott, and I would like to have a commissioner on the library board if at all possible”, said Thomas.

The commission unanimously approved the appointment of Commissioner Alexander and Allen Nicas to the library board.

One position on the board is for a three year term, and the other will be for a two year term. The library board meets once every quarter.
