A decision on the proposed solid waste department fee increases is forthcoming this evening at the regular meeting for the Elbert County Commission.
The increases range from a fifty cents increase in the cost of the county’s blue trash bags, and a twenty-five cents increase in the yellow bags.
Also, the county plans on increasing the tipping fee from forty-eight dollars per ton, to fifty-two dollars per ton.
That decision will be made this evening at 5:30pm, among others.
Prior to tonight’s regular meeting, the commission will hold two public hearings.
At 5:00pm, the commissioners will hold a hearing to hear the public’s concerns or opinions in regards to requested zoning changes that have been presented to the commission for approval.
At 5:15pm, the commissioners will update the public on the Short-Term Work Program for the Elbert County Comprehensive Plan and will notify the community when the plan components will be transmitted for review and comment. At that time, the commission will accept public input.
All three of these events will take place in the Elbert County Board of Commissioners Meeting room located inside the Elbert County Government Complex.
