Today the Elbert County Board of Commissioners will hold their work session for their upcoming monthly meeting, which will take place on Monday September 10th.

During the work session, several discussions are expected to take place. The commissioners will talk about the Energy Excise Tax levy for Elbert County, expenditures of 2011 SPLOST funds, and will discuss consolidation of City and County Governments.

Also, the commissioners will figure out what day to hold their October monthly meeting. Currently the October meeting is scheduled for Columbus Day, which is a day the county is observing as an official holiday. A decision will made to either have the October meeting that following Tuesday, or on October 15th.

The meeting will begin at 5:00pm, and will be held in the commissioners’ work session room at the Elbert County Government Complex.
