Elbert County EMA to Test Tornado Sirens this Morning

February 7, 2014

Don’t panic this morning if you happen to hear tornado sirens blaring later on.

According to Elbert County EMA Director Chuck Almond, the county will be conducting a test of the tornado warning system.

The test was originally supposed to take place on Wednesday, but due to rainy weather and a few rumbles of thunder, the test was pushed back in favor of having more favorable weather conditions.

So this morning the siren test will begin just a few minutes past 9:00am, and according to Almond will run just one cycle before the test is concluded.
