Elbert County Emergency Services Ready to Roll Out New Alert System

September 13, 2012

In the up-coming weeks, Elbert County 9-1-1 and Emergency Services staff will be at locations throughout Elbert County and the Cities of Bowman and Elberton to allow the citizens to learn more about the county’s new emergency alert system and to sign up for emergency notifications.

The new system is called DeltAlert, which is a web-based, mass notification system that enables users to make time sensitive announcements in a rapid, reliable, and cost-effective manner

DeltAlert will primarily be used to send out notifications relating to Natural Disasters, Man-made Disasters, and Municipalities Uses. The DeltAlert system is very similar to what larger areas use as a reverse 9-1-1 system to send out messages and information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Elbert County 9-1-1 center at (706) 283-2026 or Chuck Almond at (706) 283-2003.

To sign up for the new alert system, you can visit www.elbertcoes.org. For further updates on the new alert system, you can visit the Elbert County Emergency Services Facebook page.
