A 2013 Elbert County graduate is amongst the fifty Georgia High School seniors that received the Horatio Alger Georgia Scholarship.
Class of 2013 Valedictorian Rosemary Schatz was one of the fifty winners of the five thousand dollar scholarship announced late last week.
That money will go towards college tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board.
The Horatio Alger Association’s scholarship programs are funded by its Members, friends of the organization, and other foundations.
Since 1987, the Association has proved roughly two million dollars in scholarships to high school seniors from Georgia.
