Elbert County Man Arrested on Cocaine Charges after Traffic Stop

Another drug arrest by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, this time coming after a traffic stop.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, a traffic stop was conducted on Ruckersville Road Friday after a vehicle was observed crossing into the other lane of the road.

The driver, identified as 54-year-old Billy Edward Brown of a Wahatchee Creek Road address, was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and was arrested soon after.

Brown has been charged with Possession of Cocaine, DUI Drugs, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Driving in Violation of a Limited Permit.

Brown was taken to the Elbert County Detention Center after his arrest, and has since been released out on bond.
