Elbert County Man Faces Intent to Distribute Charges after Traffic Stop

An Elbert County man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop in the early morning hours of Thursday.

Just after 1:00am that morning, an Elbert County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Mineral Springs Road.

The deputy noticed signs of a driver possibly under the influence, when asked to exit the vehicle, the deputy asked 32-year-old Corrie Deshane Norman of a Rock Knob Road address for permission to search the vehicle.

Norman agreed, and the deputy located two small bags of a white crystal substance, which field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Norman was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, DUI Alcohol, Loud Music, and No Proof of Insurance.

He was transported to the Elbert County Detention Center after his arrest, no word on if bond has been granted.
