The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that the month of August showed the highest seat belt usage rate at 92%.

It is a fact that rural counties have the highest percent of unrestrained fatalities and injuries within the state of Georgia.

The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office is thrilled that the percentage of those wearing seat belts has reached such a high number.

The lowest rate this year thus far was shown in the month of June at 81%.

Wearing your seat belt is the biggest factor in preventing serious injury or even death in a automobile accident.
