Elbert County Teachers Adjusting Back to Five-Day School Week

September 5, 2012

After a couple of weeks into the new 2012-2013 school year, students and teachers are starting to settle down and once again getting used to the five day school week, and not a three day weekend.

David Bennett an art teacher at Elbert County Comprehensive High School and the head coach for the High School Tennis team tells us why he likes the five day week and how it helps his tennis team.

“I like the five day better than the four day, because even though I did enjoy a nice long three day weekend, but by the end of the week it was worn out, and long days during tennis season. The five day week just has better hours overall”, said David Bennett.

Going back to the five day school week has actually been an excitement for many of the teachers. They look forward to getting out earlier, the kids not being as hungry from longer days and classes, as well as having shorter days.
