The Elbert County Hospital Authority Board of Trustees met last night. Though some financial woes still remain for the Hospital, they have improved by leaps and bounds as revenue is up and patient volume is up 22%.
The Hospital is working on a new contract to receive Medicaid from the state of South Carolina which previously was not allowed, though the Hospital had many South Carolina patients.
The Hospital hopes to be reimbursed through Medicaid all the way back to 2010.
Furthermore the Hospital has received SPLOST money from Elbert County and the City of Elberton, but has yet to receive money from the City of Bowman.
However Bowman is in the process of catching up on SPLOST money that is due.
Moreover, the FY (fiscal year) 2012 Audit is still in progress.
The Hospital still owes about $8,000 but is looking to make monthly payments over the next couple of months to finish up the audit.
