Elbert Parks and Rec to Hopefully Receive New Truck

November 16, 2012

During Monday’s Elbert County Commissioner meeting, the county approved a motion to submit a bid to the Elbert County Housing Authority for a used pick up truck they were selling.

County Administrator Bob Thomas said the used truck would go to the parks and recreation department.

“They have one of the oldest pick up trucks in our fleet, and it has been giving them some mechanical problems as of late”, said Thomas. “I have already spoken to the director down there, and this truck will work fine for them, if [the housing authority] will accept our bids.”

Thomas said that the money to purchase the truck would come out of the county’s SPLOST fund.

Whether or not the county receives the truck, will be up the Elbert County Housing Authority, who has to accept or deny the bid submitted.
