Elberton Man Arrested on Burglary Charge, More Arrests Expected

June 19, 2013

An arrest has been made in a burglary case reported earlier this month on June 6th.

The burglary occurred at a home currently not being lived in, but which was being used primarily for storage.

According to Investigator Darren Scarborough with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office they received a call late last week on where the stolen items might be located.

He said the information proved to be accurate, and that they recovered several items.

“We recovered about five guitars, an old time record player, an electric heater, a shotgun, a lot of plumbing fittings and fixtures, and a backpack filled with various tools among other items”, said Scarborough.

As a result of the findings, 30-year-old Daniel Clark Neal of a Fort Creek address in Bowman, GA was arrested and charged with first degree burglary, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Related Object.

After questioning, Scarborough says that Neal confessed to committing the burglary.

According to Scarborough the investigation continues, and he expects that more arrests will be made in connection with this case in the near future.

Bond has not yet been set for Daniel Clark Neal, who is currently in custody at the Elbert County Detention Center.
