Elberton Man Still in Custody After Dealing Drugs

An Elberton man remains behind bars after being arrested on drug distribution charges.

The incident took place last Thursday evening, when Elberton Police Officers received an anonymous tip about possible drug transactions taking place out of a room at the Days Inn off of Elbert Street.

After receiving the tip; officers from the Elberton Police Department and Piedmont MANS Unit responded to the scene.

Further investigation led to officers placing 52-year-old Darrell Raynor of an Almond Street address under arrest.

Raynor was charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Felony Possession of Marijuana.

Raynor remains in custody at the Elbert County Detention Center, where bond has been set, but not yet posted.
