Elberton Man Wanted on Kidnapping Charges Arrested in Athens

After being arrested in Athens, GA last week by the U.S. Marshalls, an Elberton man will now have to face kidnapping charges that stem from Elbert County.

32-year-old Jamie Lee Hill of Elberton was arrested in Athens last week on gun charges, through further investigation the Marshalls were able to determine that Hill had outstanding warrants from Elbert County dating back to an incident that occurred on June 29th, 2011 at a convenience store on the Hartwell Highway.

In addition to the kidnapping warrants, Hill faces numerous bench warrants and a failure to appear warrant as well.

A hold has been placed on Hill by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office.

Once Hill is released from the custody of the U.S. Marshalls, he will be transported back to the Elbert County Detention Center on the previously mentioned charges.
